The Graniteers, hailing from the Granite City (St. Cloud, MN), were formed in 1963 by Don Moore. The Popularity of their happy, exciting sound is attested to by people of all ages and by increased bookings in the ballrooms.
The band is somewhat of a family group, since two of Don's sons are regular members. Dave Moore plays trumpet, and Dick Moore plays sax and clarinet with his father. Other ban members and their instruments are : Riene Motschke (Hengel Concertina), Jay Pattison (Bass Horn), Orval Moore (Banjo), and Joe Krutchen (Drums).
Most of the fellows are also able to play other instruments, and often do, which adds much to the versatility of the group. Although they specialize in the "Old-Time" style of music, the ban occasionally plays very danceable modern or country western tunes.
We think you will thoroughly enjoy this finger snappin' toe tappin' session with The Graniteers.
