Here's an album that has everything - hit songs... nostalgia for the old country.. a Butterfly dance... a theme song waltz, and - hold onto your hat - the singing debut of Betty Wolf, Mrs. Deutschmeister herself.
"Peanuts" is, of course, an established hit, and in this album it gets the full Deutschmeisters treatment, and ought to be a hit all over again. Also of hit calibre is Betty's singing version of "Johnny's Knocking". This is not a new tune but the way it's done in this album it should set new records for popularity.
Betty also sings "Du Du Liegst Mir Im Herzen: in a way that will bring back fond memories from across the ocean. Betty, by the way, also plays piano for her singing numbers and other selections in the album. The singing, through the magic of tape over-dubbing, is Betty doing a duet with herself.
The Deutschmeisters also present a tribute to the late Woopee John with their performance of "Mariechen Waltz:, which was Woopee's theme song. This selection features Director Tony Wolf's vibrato concertina.
Early reviews of the "Peanuts" album indicates that this will be the best of all the great Deutschmeisters records - from the very start to the last number, "Good-night Ladies", played as a Butterfly.
